Harmony. Such a beautiful word, yet almost impossible. At least, when you think of worldly things. With so much disharmony in the world right now, it makes me wonder: Why can't we all be in harmony with one another? Accepting our differences and being respectful of them. We can't force others to believe the way we do; we can't control the way others believe. So why can't we just accept our differences and live in harmony?
Living as Christ taught us, loving others as ourselves, and forgiving others. These are the building blocks of harmony. No, it's not easy, but I wonder if it actually could ever be done? Even in my country, there is so much disharmony that I wonder if harmony would ever be possible. Just because my beliefs may be different than someone else's, it doesn't make mine wrong, just as it doesn't make the others wrong.
We have to learn to "preach the Gospels at all times, and if necessary, use words" (St. Francis). Our actions have to speak louder than our words. We have to learn when to show prudence and when to speak up. We have to learn when to just say "I see what you're saying" or "I think we can agree to disagree" and just move on. Sadly, some people are just so angry. We have to pray for these people, that they will find Jesus and will begin to live in harmony, not just with others, but to find harmony within their own hearts.
Oops...I think I went over by 1 minute, but I was on a roll!
